George Jefferson

Writing Teacher

Hi, my name is George Jefferson, I am a 4th grade = teacher here at University Academy. I was born and raised in Riverside, California I earned my B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara where I double majored in Psychology and Women’s Studies. After graduating from UCSB I was accepted into Teach for America where I received my educational training. I am honored to work with each and every one of your students as we build our paths toward higher education and lifelong success.

4th Grade

RISE

Students understand that their academic success is dependent on them meeting academic and behavioral expectations both in and outside the walls of the classroom. Students in our class will be given praise and constructive feedback, when appropriate, on their progress meeting expectations. Power School will be used to track academic standards mastery while Class Dojo will be used to track students’ success.



RESULTS


Students are expected to strive towards meaningful results. Students understand that results are a product of their everyday efforts. Students know that they must be able to look at their results and create a plan to improve moving forward.



INTEGRITY

Students understand that to be their best they must be honest , respectful and most of all, proud of the work that they do. Students are expected to choose success regardless of the choices of those present around them.Integrity is key to self-improvement ,excellence and results.Integrity is a continuous practice for students.



SELF-IMPROVEMENT

Students are expected to be actively engaged in self-improvement everyday . Students must understand that they have extreme potential and then make a choice to work towards excellence through self-improvement.



EXCELLENCE

Students are expected to strive for excellence at all times. Students are expected to identify, work for and achieve excellence. Once students achieve excellence in one area they understand that 1.) They must continually strive for excellence in all other areas 2.)All achievements warrant celebration.
